☀️ Seg Solar to build 4 GW solar-module plant in Houston
Manufacturing Dive reported that SEG Solar will establish a 4 GW solar-module manufacturing facility in Houston. Announced on May 7, 2026, the nearly 500,000-square-foot plant represents an investment of more than $200 million and is expected to create up to 800 jobs. The new facility will expand SEG Solar’s existing 2 GW manufacturing capacity and support its goal of becoming one of the largest fully U.S.-owned solar-module manufacturers.

⚡TS Conductor Opens $134 Million Manufacturing Plant
Manufacturing Dive reported that TS Conductor has opened a new manufacturing plant in Hardeeville, South Carolina, marking the company’s second U.S. facility. The $134 million project will manufacture aluminum-encapsulated carbon-core conductors designed to strengthen and modernize the power grid. During the first phase, the facility is expected to reach up to 10 times the production capacity of TS Conductor’s California plant, with potential future capacity of as much as 20 times its current output. The project is also supported by a $28 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Manufacturing Deployment Office.

📦 UPS Invests Nearly $50 Million to Expand Heavy Air Freight Services
Supply Chain Dive reported that UPS is investing nearly $50 million to expand its North American air freight network for automotive and industrial manufacturers. Beginning in August 2026, the company will offer one-, two-, and three-day heavy freight services to and from Mexico. UPS has also hired more than 300 logistics specialists to support customers and manage complex shipments. The expansion is designed to attract high-value, time-sensitive freight while helping UPS offset declining e-commerce volumes.
